This policy outlines the key principles related to procurement as a functional and important activity within Drumgrange. It is an outward facing document to demonstrate our current and potential supplier base and its stakeholders that the organisation takes procurement activity seriously, fairly and objectively and is mindful of the need to achieve value-for-money in a transparent and competent manner.
Procurement can be defined as the acquisition, whether under formal contract or otherwise, of goods, services and works from third parties.
The scope of procurement ranges from the purchase of routine supplies and services to formal tendering and placing of contracts. This policy outlines the principles that should be applied to all procurement.
In all dealings with suppliers and potential suppliers, Drumgrange staff must preserve the highest standards of honesty, integrity, impartiality and objectivity. We also expect our supply chain to adhere to the same principles. In particular:
Training and Communication
Drumgrange aims to improve procurement skills among its staff and to raise the profile of procurement and its role within Drumgrange. We will ensure that the Procurement Strategy, Policy and Procedures are effectively communicated to, and understood by, all relevant personnel.
Drumgrange will ensure that appropriate staff are equipped with the skills, resources and knowledge to make procurement decisions that support and promote the procurement policy.
Equality and Diversity
All procurement activity will be fair, transparent and proportionate and will not allow for discrimination of any type, in adherence with the organisation's Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work Policy (CP501). Drumgrange is committed to eliminating discrimination, promoting diversity and providing equal opportunities, which is demonstrated through our employment policies and practices.
Environmental and Sustainability
Drumgrange is committed to take into account sustainability issues in the procurement process. We are committed to:
Counterfeit products are fakes or unauthorised replicas of the real product. These products are often produced with the intent to take advantage of the superior value of the imitated product. Drumgrange will ensure that goods and services are purchased through trusted companies and will take action against any non-legitimate products or services provided. Drumgrange understands there is a worldwide problem concerning counterfeit components entering the supply chain and is committed to sourcing components and materials from companies that share our values.
